  1. They can pass for a genius with a low EQ full of lies, but also as someone with bad grammar, since every word must have a hidden meaning.

  2. Alan Turing: You only need 100 Megabytes of memory to past "The Turing Test"
Me: Alan, I have 32Gigabytes of memory but it can't pass the test.

  3. In short, the AI is only considered "intelligent" if it is considered to be alike human. This is the biggest fault of this test

  4. Really would be scary if, one day, an AI who has successfully passed the turing test will deviate from its programming and make up its own goal. That means to say, super advanced AI might be "conscious" if they can successfully make up their own goals. Would need another test for that in the future, but not different from the turing test.

  5. I think people who answer phones for corporations should have to take a turning test. The ability to grasp meaning behind statements that are not in the script they are given is not fair, to them or the clients. In the english language we have cloocolalisms, we say things like I am in Hawaii when told to call a store. That means its really early in the morning in this part of the world and no stores are open yet. When they do not know where Hawaii is, not even what part of the world it is and its a major company like Sears that you are trying to talk to, it gets really challenging. Its like learning how to communicate with an AI. Rant:

  11. The Turing test is not really telling anything about whether a robot is intelligent or self aware. Just ask the robot "repeat or rephrase what I just said to you about my cat 5 minutes ago" it won't be able to because it cannot remember or connect a conversation much less know that you are person hes is talking to in the material world that owns a cat. It can only give one answer to the one frase you typed. It is just programm to calculate a response in English grammar that somehow has to do with the words you put into it. It doesn't mean it understands what it's saying. The Roboter will need thousand of pictures to recognize the picture of a cat cause it will always be 2D for him and cause its made all example people pictures into calculable numbers. A child needs to see one cat and will recognize every cat he sees from that point on. We're far from human like artificial intelligence
